Ian Machado Garry forces Colby Covington to confess; The grudge match has yet to be officially announced

According to the Irishman, he has agreed to fight his American rival, with a date for that fight already set.

However, the 26-year-old also revealed that Covington has not yet signed the contract, which raises doubts as to whether a showdown will take place.

In an Instagram video, Garry said: “I just want to let everyone know that I have agreed to fight Colby Covington.

“There’s a date – Colby still hasn’t signed the contract.”

Garry was last in action at UFC 298 when he picked up a split decision victory over Geoff Neal.

Following this victory, the Irishman redoubled his efforts to secure a fight against three-time UFC title challenger Covington.

The 36-year-old last fought for the UFC welterweight championship at UFC 296 in December.

Covington failed to get over the finish line as he lost by unanimous decision to Leaon Edwards.

Bad blood developed between Covington and Garry when the American made a series of unsavory comments about his opponent's wife and family.

The former interim welterweight champion has had a history of controversy during his time in the UFC.

Before his fight with Edwards, Covington got into trouble after making a disrespectful comment about his opponent's father, who was murdered when Edwards was just 13 years old.
