The Buchholz flag football team ended its season at home on Tuesday with a 14-6 loss in the 2A-District 2 tournament the Tallahassee Leon Lions.

The quarterfinals got off to a hot start as the four-seeded Bobcats (5-4) scored the first touchdown.

However, fifth-seeded Leon (3-8) left little time to celebrate with a quick return and a touchdown. The Lions were able to get the extra point, took an early lead and ended the first quarter with a 7-6 lead.

There wasn't much action in the second quarter. The Lions' Sakari Hall made an impressive interception and gained 40 yards, but couldn't add any points.

That changed in the final seconds of the second quarter when Leon's Mykayla James scored another touchdown. Leon hit the extra point again and took a 14-6 lead at halftime.

There were no points in the second half as the defense dominated. Hall intercepted again, as did the Bobcats' Susie Byrne.

The Lions play the top-seeded Tallahassee Chiles Timberwolves (10-3) at Ocala Forest High School on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
