Noble Yeats jumps at the Grand National

The 2024 Grand National at Aintree is just days away and for many in homes and offices across the country that means it's time for the competition.

Huge amounts of money will be awarded to the 34 runners and riders in Saturday's big race and with our competition kit you too could be a winner among your friends, family or work colleagues.

There are currently 51 horses still in the running for the main event, including last year's winner Corach Rambler. For detailed information, see our comprehensive guide for runners and riders. The next scratch round (horses are cut off) takes place on Thursday at 4pm in the “48 hour declaration phase” when the field is whittled down to the final 34.

You can download our competition kit from the link below. However, please note that the list of 34 horses will most likely change before the race itself. We encourage you to return to this page on Friday morning for the final competition.

Plus, to fill your knowledge gap and impress your friends, check out our complete guide to this year's race, see the full list of runners and riders, and our top tips.

The Grand National has a knack for producing a winner with an entertaining backstory and it did so again when Corach Rambler took the title in 2023. First, the 8-1 favorite made 21-year-old Cameron Sword the youngest winning owner in the race's long history.

The year before, in 2022, Sam Waley-Cohen, an amateur jockey, announced that the Grand National would be the final race of his career – and then won it 50-1 aboard the underdog Noble Yeats. In 2021, Rachael Blackmore became the first woman to ride the Grand National winner when she took over as editor of the Minella Times.

As 2022 has shown, just because the horse you pick out of the hat has a high chance of winning doesn't mean it can't win!

How to run a Grand National 2024 competition

If you have 34 people or 17 people with two horses each, you can win £5 per horse, including £90 for the winner, £45 for second place, £25 for third place and £10 for fourth place.

Alternatively, £2 could be split per entry: £40 for the winner, £15 for second place, £10 for third place and £3 for fourth place.

The Grand National takes place at 4pm on Saturday and you can follow all the action right here on Telegraph Sport, with full live coverage and results as they come in.
