Eastern Kentucky softball doubleheader postponed

MOREHEAD, Ky. – Wednesday's scheduled home game against arch-rival Eastern Kentucky has been postponed due to the threat of rainy weather. The game will be rescheduled for Tuesday, April 30th.

Morehead State currently has a record of 10-18 while Eastern Kentucky is 29-5.

The two teams have met in both seasons since EKU left the Ohio Valley Conference to move to the Atlantic Sun Conference.

The Colonels defeated MSU 5-4 and 8-0 in five innings on April 19, 2023, but the Eagles won the only meeting of 2022 3-1, which took place on March 16 in Morehead.

The two teams have met 93 times in a series that has been played annually since 1993, excluding the Covid-19-shortened 2020 season. EKU leads 67-26.

The doubleheader will take place at 1:00 p.m. and 3:330 p.m. and is expected to be broadcast on ESPN+.

Morehead State's next game will be a doubleheader against Southeast Missouri starting at noon on Saturday. It will be part of what is now a five-game homestand. The Eagles will continue their weekend game against the Redhawks at noon on Sunday before wrapping up play at University Field with a doubleheader against Youngstown State beginning at noon on Tuesday.
