There will always be style differences between Americans and Europeans, but I'm particularly fascinated by what's at the center of the Venn diagram. How do we dress even though we live in different environments? I had exactly this question for Giada Forte from the Forte_forte brand. As an Italian designer who spends a lot of time in Los Angeles and has just reopened her beautifully designed boutique there, I thought she was the perfect person to reflect on the trends that both Italian and LA women will be wearing this summer.

When it comes to color trends, Forte told Who What Wear that she thinks pastels will appeal everywhere this season. “I feel like the ideas of poetic beauty and kindness come through in the pastel tones of our clothing,” she told us. “The idea of delicate colors, dreamy patterns and pure shapes transports you to a soft, dreamlike atmosphere for this summer.” Another trend she mentioned is craftsmanship, “which highlights the importance of beautiful textile traditions that humanize clothing “Give feeling,” Forte told Who What Wear. “In fact, this is our main goal at Forte_forte. For our Spring/Summer 2024 collection, we translated this into our wooden beaded hand-embroidered cropped jackets and vests, our beautiful openwork knit set, and our vintage cross-stitched tablecloth-inspired bomber jackets and pants.
