Changes in the leadership of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since the October 2023 general conference are reflected in an updated list of general authorities and general officers, available for viewing or downloading.

President M. Russell Ballard, acting president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, died November 12, 2023, at the age of 95. President Jeffrey R. Holland was named the next Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles on November 15, 2023 Twelve Apostles.

President Dallin H. Oaks, First Counselor in the First Presidency, is the second-highest apostle after the President of the Church and President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. When the second senior apostle is called to serve as a counselor in the First Presidency, the third senior apostle becomes acting President of the Twelve.

Elder Patrick Kearon, serving in the Presidency of the Seventy, was ordained a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles on December 7, 2023, to fill the vacancy.

In January, the First Presidency announced changes to the Presidency of the Seventy: Elder Carl B. Cook, a General Authority Seventy who has served in the presidency since 2018, as senior president; Elder Marcus B. Nash, a General Authority Seventy who served as executive director of the church's mission department, was named president.
