Not many rookies get to join a team with championship aspirations like the Celtics. Walsh enjoys every opportunity to be with the C's and has learned a lot from many of the veteran players.

“In my first year, I will be able to be in the playoffs with a team that has a chance to do something special. And having that in the first year definitely sets my mindset, a benchmark for the future,” which could be good or bad.

“But to be able to have that experience and start my career with great guys like Al (Horford), (Jayson Tatum) and (Kristaps Porzingis) and Jrue (Holiday), my career with those guys in one place like…to start Boston, where the mentality wins, the standard wins, but also being a good person and doing it right.

“Having this experience is definitely an incredible feeling. I'm really looking forward to the playoffs with Maine and Boston. Hopefully we can get two of them this year.”

Walsh's best skill is his defense. He is a very good full-back and fights as hard as anyone on the pitch. He can guard multiple positions and has good defensive instincts.

The Celtics defend better than most teams – they're ranked No. 3 in the defensive rating as of Thursday – giving Walsh a great opportunity to learn and develop his defensive game even further.

There is one player who stands out to Walsh in terms of defensive excellence.

“One hundred percent Jrue Holiday. Just his technique and the angle he takes in defense are amazing to me. Jaylen Brown also makes him great, just because of his competitiveness, his courage to just protect someone and shut them down.” Especially on defense.

“Of course they are both good players on offense as well, but the fact that they have things in their game that I can take and integrate into my game to make me a better defender or maybe even a better offensive player, that is very. ” important.

“And it’s just as important that they be willing to offer any information that might help me on my journey. So I definitely appreciate these people for helping me and setting a good example for sure.”
