Cris Cyborg is preparing for his boxing match against Widnelly Figueroa at Green Bay Fight Night on April 27th

Cris Cyborg is about to make her next martial arts appearance, and it won't be in an MMA cage like she'd hoped.

According to a press release, Cyborg (3-0) will return to the boxing ring on April 27 to face Widnelly Figueroa in the main event of Green Bay Fight Night at The Watering Hole in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The fight will consist of two four-minute rounds in 10-ounce gloves and will be held at 154 pounds.

Promoted by Roughhouse Promotions and Salomon Becerra, the bout will be Cyborg's second boxing match of the year, following an 81-second finish of Kelsey Wickstrum in January. Figueroa (0-2) will return to boxing for her first fight since 2017.

“I was hoping to fight (Larissa) Pachecho in June, which gave me limited dates for a boxing match,” Cyborg said in the press release. “Figueroa is a tough opponent who has been in the ring at boxing Olympics and had a lot more experience than me. I have been training hard and hope I can continue to show the progress I am making in my boxing skills.

“I want to prove to people in boxing that my knockout power in MMA can be translated into knockout power with the bigger gloves. I'm working on my boxing techniques so I'll be able to deliver the kind of finishes the fans want. I want to bring excitement to women’s boxing like I did at the WMMA.”

Cyborg, 38, is undefeated in three fights in professional boxing. She wins over Simone da Silva, Gabrielle Holloway and Wickstrum. With a win over Figueroa, Cyborg will continue to pursue a fight against Cecilia Braekhus, who is ranked No. 1 in the super welterweight division according to BoxRec.

Cyborg's final appearance in MMA was a first-round TKO stoppage of Cat Zingano at Bellator 300, which secured her fifth defense of the Bellator women's featherweight title. Since PFL's takeover of Bellator, Cyborg has been calling for a champion-on-champion fight against Larissa Pacheco, but that fight or any other MMA fight has yet to happen.
