SECPSD Education Director Keith Keating says a multi-year funding policy for school divisions included in this year's provincial budget is welcomed as it will greatly assist in the preparation of annual divisional budgets.

SOUTHEAST SASK. – During opening roundtable remarks at the most recent South East Cornerstone Public School Division board meeting held March 27, Education Director Keith Keating noted that a multi-year school division funding policy that was included in this year's provincial budget has been welcomed since it will be of great help in preparing annual departmental budgets.

“I hope this is the type of budget we will see on a regular basis,” he said.

On the issue of ongoing disruptions to regular school operations due to strikes and strikes by Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation staff related to their dispute with the provincial government's stance on classroom size and complexity, he said the main interest is to get the two sides back to the negotiating table so that the negotiation process can be completed.
